Really excited to be able to have a chat with famous pop artist Peter Max. You have seen his work everywhere, and may, or may not have known it. He was won countless awards, and been featured on the cover of TIME magazine, along with countless others numerous times. I had a phone conversation with him this week about his upcoming exhibition in Pittsburgh, and have the pleasure be doing another interview with him when he arrives at the Gallery I can’t wait! Peter Max Returns to Pittsburgh on October 10-11
Pittsburgh, PA – September 11, 2014 — World-renowned artist Peter Max will be returning to Pittsburgh on October 10-11 at the Christine Fre’chard Gallery on Forbes Avenue in Squirrel Hill.
Max will be on-site Friday from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday 6-9 p.m. His appearances are open to the public and his artwork will be available for acquisition. Previews begin on Saturday, October 4. Reservations are required. Please call 866-900-6699 to RSVP.
This latest retrospective includes original paintings, drawings and limited-edition prints ranging from his well known “Cosmic” images to his famous iconic paintings such as the “Statue of Liberty” and “Flag with Heart”. This carefully curated collection is a museum-like retrospective of Max’s works and includes a captivating new series entitled “Marilyn.”
Max’s work has been an artistic symbol of pop culture. Examples of his imagination and vision can be found in more than 100 museums and galleries throughout the world and on a variety of canvases, including the Berlin Wall and a Boeing 777 jumbo jet currently in use by Continental Airlines. Painting portraits of numerous world leaders, such as the last six U.S. Presidents, the Dalai Lama and Mikhail Gorbachev, Max has also served as the official artist for international events like Grammy Award broadcasts, World Fairs and Super Bowls.
