Since we have started making beer and wine, we have a lot of it. It is starting to stack up quite a bit in boxes, along with wines we have collected from travels. I have always wanted a wine cabinet, but they are pricey, and we didn’t need a temperature regulated one, because our basement is always steady in the 55-60 range. I wanted something that I wouldn’t feel bad about keeping in our grungy basement. When I bought the house six years ago there has always been this empty cabinet sitting in the corner that didn’t have doors. The cabinet was basically unused, and rotting away, so we thought, reuse, repurpose!
Here is the nasty cabinet after we dragged it through our spidery basement, and out into the garage. It probably hadn’t moved for at least 15 years.
We bought the two doors above from Construction Junction, and cut them down to size to fit the front. Attached some hardware to keep them closed.
I have always been looking for an excuse to use this stuff. Chalkboard paint!! I had the idea to paint the front panels, so that we could keep some tabs on what we had in stock. I now want to paint everything in our house, the next project… the fridge.
What have you repurposed lately?
